Career Change

Changing Sector Without Stepping Back

Adjacent moves preserve seniority. Distant moves rarely do.

The cost of a career change is usually proportional to distance. Changing function and sector and country at once almost always requires a downshift.

Change one variable at a time where possible. Move sector but keep function; or move function inside a sector you already understand.

Then translate your evidence into the destination's vocabulary. Most rejection in career change is a language problem, not a capability problem.
