Applicant tracking systems are databases with parsing engines, not gatekeepers with opinions. They do not assign a universal score, and no vendor can guarantee that a document 'passes'.
What genuinely breaks applications is structural: multi-column layouts, text inside images or shapes, headers and footers carrying critical data, and non-standard section headings.
Fix the structure first, then improve relevance by mirroring the language of the posting honestly. Invisible white text and keyword walls are detectable and damage credibility.
